More Game Day Eats: The Dago Dog
I love Hot Dogs with anything from just ketchup and mustard, to Chili Dogs, to complex masterpieces. This is a complex masterpiece. When at home watching football I love to make hot dogs. Grilling is generally the preferred method, but lately I discovered the art of skillet frying them in olive oil. One day I decided to take it a few steps further and combine a love of Italian food with hot dogs. And the Dago Dog was born.....
The Dago Dog

Ingredients:
Hot Dogs
Shredded Mozzarella
Diced Onions
Whole Pepperoncini with stems removed
Pepperoni
Marinara Sauce
3 Cloves Garlic
3 Tbsp Olive Oil
Hot Dog Buns
Basil
Directions:
1. In a skillet on medium heat warm up Olive Oil. Add the 3 cloves of minced garlic. Once the garlic has become fragrant place the hot dogs in the skillet to fry them in the garlic and oil. Fry them until they have some char on the outside.
2. In another skillet fry the pepperoni and pepperoncini together
3. In a small saucepan warm the marinara sauce
4. When all the ingredients are warmed take your hot dog bun and put a small layer of marinara sauce. Then layer each side of the bum with basil leaves and pepperoni. Place the hot dog on the bun and then top with more marinara sauce, onions, pepperoncini and mozzarella
5. Eat and Enjoy
