4 Down Territory: Big Ten Returns, Top Three Match-Ups & The Ultimate PSU Season Rolls the Tide

First Down: Big Ten Returns: The Big Ten returns this week….Nebraska at #5 Ohio State: Last year Ohio State was a complete team with a stout defense and an explosive offense. Will they return to that form to be a true National Title contender? Nebraska and QB Adrian Martinez will have to get very good in a hurry with a schedule that includes games against Ohio State, Wisconsin and Penn State in the first four weeks. For Ohio State the running back position will be one to watch to see if they can fully replace the contributions of JK Dobbins…….#8 Penn State at Indiana: Last year the Hoosiers made two huge special teams mistakes in their 34-27 loss at Penn State. Under Coach Allen, Indiana has

4-Down Territory: SEC Wild West & Covid Drama, ACC's Big Three & The Ultimate PSU Season Rolls On

First Down: The SEC “Wild West”: Last week SEC West defenses yielded an average of 487 yards and 39.4 points per game. But to be fair it would only have been 39.0 if the officials hadn’t awarded Auburn the ball after a controversial backwards pass. Nowhere has the shift been as dramatic as Alabama’s transition from its ball-control offense and defense-first philosophy. Alabama is now a high-flying offensive juggernaut, but their defense is allowing a lot more points. In 2016 and 2017 they allowed 13.0 and 11.9 points per game. Those numbers jumped to 18.1 and 18.6 in 2018 and 2019 before jumping to 30.3 this year. The best defense statistically in the SEC West is……Mississippi State yielding

4-Down Territory: ACC & SEC Headliners, Red River Recedes & Ultimate PSU Season Rolls On

1st Down: ACC Week in the Spotlight: #19 Va Tech at #8 UNC: Remember those who thought Mack Brown was too old to be relevant again, let alone bring relevance to UNC Football? You can show yourselves out—for this week at least. This is the first and only currently ranked team the Tarheels play until November 27th when Notre Dame comes to Chapel Hill. UNC’s defense has proven itself through two weeks. Keep an eye on LB Chazz Surratt who has proven to be an effective pass rusher with 3 sacks through 2 games....Duke at Syracuse: Both teams have made progress in recent years but this year they’re both struggling…..Basketball season can’t get here soon enough….. 2nd Down: Border Wars: #14 Tennesse

4 Down Territory: Monster SEC & Key ACC Games, Hangover Alerts & The Ultimate PSU Season Continues

1st Down: ACC Match-ups: Virginia at #1 Clemson: UVA looked solid versus Duke with new QB Brennan Armstrong but a trip to Clemson is a whole other level. If UVA gets turnovers like they did against Duke (7 Total) they’ll have a chance….NC State at #24 Pitt: The same Louisville offense that shredded the Miami defense mustered just over 200 yards vs the Pitt defense. Pitt’s pass rush and secondary are playing at a high level with 17 sacks and 6 interceptions through three games. On offense Pitt still lacks some consistency, but late in the game Saturday the Pitt O-line found the ability to run the ball when needed. NC State is 1-1 after a 21-point loss at Virginia Tech. While NC State’s offens
